About the Internship
As a Business Development Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in sustainability consulting and
business development while working from one of our offices in Maastricht or Geleen-Sittard in a
hybrid work environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful sustainability
projects in a fast-growing, innovative company. Part of DCarbon Global, DCarbon NL specializes in sustainability and climate change consulting, offering services such as consultation, training, reporting, and life cycle assessment. Collaborating with GRI-certified partners and industry
supporters, we operate across 12 sectors to drive sustainable transformation in the MENA, GCC, EU, and USA regions.
Key Responsibilities
• Support Sales & Business Development: Identify potential clients, prepare customized marketing materials, and support outreach efforts with businesses and stakeholders.
• Research & Analysis: Conduct research and analysis for carbon footprint assessments, Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), and sustainability reporting to support our consulting projects.
• Tool & Methodology Development: Assist in developing methodologies and tools for sustainability projects, such as environmental risk assessments, resource efficiency analysis, and innovative consulting solutions.
• Technical Support & Presentations: Prepare technical presentations and support project discussions with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Data Management & Compliance: Contribute to environmental data management and ensure compliance with sustainability standards and regulations.
• Event & Client Support: Collaborate with the team to prepare for events, presentations, and client meetings, supporting the overall business development strategy.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Pursuing or recently completed a master’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Energy, or a related field.
• Passion for Growth: Strong interest in sustainability, environmental impact reduction, and the transition to net-zero and circularity.
• Technical & Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in technical sustainability assessments.
• Communication & Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an interest in client engagement and relationship-building.
• Proactive & Entrepreneurial Mindset: Self-starter with a proactive approach, eager to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Language: Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
• Location: Residing in or within commuting distance of Maastricht or Geleen-Sittard for hybrid work.
• Commitment of 20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate academic schedules.
