Dr. Ehab Shalaby, Chairman of DCarbon Egypt, participated in the “Sustaining Sectors Program; The Green Built Environment” initiated by the CIB visionary leadership at JW Marriot Hôtel – New Cairo on 31st May 2022.

This program is a knowledge and action-oriented program introduced by CIB for leading corporates as part of CIB’s initiative and exerted efforts to help corporates in different sectors leverage sustainability practices to realize their potential and advance their growth while driving system transformation toward a circular economy.

Dr. Shalaby Presented the Business Case behind the transformation toward A Green Built Environment, mainly leadership, investments, borrowing, operational efficiency, and compliance pillars.

Dr. Shalaby stated that “Egypt needs more financial support to create an adequate environment for green constructions and buildings. These investments should facilitate the access to innovative technologies to process raw materials in a sustainable manner”.

Also stated that “38-40% of global greenhouse gas emissions come from the construction sector. ”
